Hobart to Richmond

We took a tour from Hobart to Richmond, crossing the Tasman Bridge over the Derwent River. We stopped at the Cascade Gardens and the remains of the Female Factory, a one time female prison. Richmond's most famous landmark is the Richmond Bridge, built in 1823 by convicts. It is Australia's oldest bridge still in use. Present-day Richmond is best known as being preserved as it was at that time. Most of the original Georgian buildings are now restaurants, shops, or private residences.
